Happy Easter Season! I hope everyone's Spring Break was restful and enjoyable! We have a very important week ahead of us here in Third Grade! Parents/Guardians, please remember the letter is due tomorrow for the Aspire!
Super Student: Reagan!
Positive Word: Aspire!
Fact of the Week: A great white shark can weigh as much as 15 gorillas!
In Math, we are reviewing concepts from last year and this year this week. Facts should be consistently worked on and practiced at home. They are having an all fact quiz next week! Students will not be having homework this week for full concentration and focus is on the Aspire. We will also be continuing our study in Geometry and classifying polygons by their attributes. Ask your student to model the three types of angles!
There will not be any Science of Social Studies for the Week to the lengthiness of the Aspire! Next week, we will continue back on our study of Native Americans and the first settlers in the United States.
In Religion, we are discontinuing our Sadlier book for the week and working on Family Life. This book talks about the makeup of all types of families in the world and their contributions to society.
In Reading, we are starting our new story, the Jones Family Express. Our new vocabulary words are potential, annual, politely, wrapping, expensive, and innocent. This vocabulary quiz will be on Tuesday next week. Our story test will be next Thursday on this story and the skill of making inferences about the characters' relationships to one another.
Looking forward to a FABULOUS week in third grade.
Any questions, please feel free to contact me!
All the best,
Ms. Taff
