Happy Tuesday and welcome back after a long weekend! I seem to have caught what has been going around the Third Grade, to explain my absence last Thursday. I am feeling much better and ready to start a great week here in third grade!
Super Student: Randy!
Positive Word: Solid!
Fact of the Week: Some of the first Nike shoes were made by pouring rubber into a waffle maker!
In Math, we are studying the difference between Perimeter and Area. We came up with helpful hints to know the difference; Area-squarea= square units/ Perimeter-P.P.= plain units It is imperative that students keep up memorizing and knowing those multiplication facts! It will benefit them greatly for this chapter and Aspire coming up.
In Social Studies, the students will continue their study of biographies and inventors and innovators. We will then finish up this chapter and complete a graphic organizer summarizing the chapter.
In Religion, we have started our next chapter on vocations and ministries of the Church. We will have a test on this chapter, chapter 11, late next week. We are continuing to talk about and practice kindness during this Lenten Season as well. Please be sure to ask your student what was the Lenten goal for the day.
In Reading, we are practicing for the Aspire. We are reading paired passages, answering questions, and underlining our evidence to support our answers. We only have five short weeks until the Aspire. We are going to be taking practice tests to be better prepared for the type of tests and questions they will be asking us.
Any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to another FABULOUS week in Third Grade!
All the best,
Ms. Taff
