Happy Monday all! We are expecting another hot Monday, so bring those water bottles! Hopefully it cools off soon!
In Math, we are continuing our study of Addition Properties and the Addition Table. Students should be practicing those addition facts nightly. Within the next month, we will be moving on to Multiplication. Addition is key to understanding multiplication, so please continue practicing those facts for at least 15 minutes each night.
In Social Studies, we are studying the different types of communities- urban, suburban, and rural. We are finishing up a project with Mrs. Cour in computer class that uses the information we are reading about and creating a table and web on the computer of different features of that type of community! We will then be doing a "Would you Rather" activity with our new knowledge of these types of communities.
In Religion, we are finishing up Chapter 2 with our test on Thursday. We are also preparing for our Third Grade Mass which is next Wednesday celebrating St. Francis of Assisi! Hope everyone can attend!
In Reading, we are doing a constructed response activity that will help with our #10 questions on our Reading test but also help us start preparing for our Aspire tests in the Spring. We will also be starting our new story this week, Earth Smart. This is a nonfiction, expository text that talks about a school that is saving the planet!
Looking forward to another fantastic week here in Third Grade! Any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me!
All the best,
Ms. Taff
