This week is Red Ribbon Week. Here is the lineup of the different dress down days for this week.
Fact of the Week: An electric eel's body can give off 650 volts of electricity- that's five times as much as a wall socket!
Super Student: BREE!
Positive Word: T-T-T-T-TERRIFIC
In Math, we are moving onto Chapter 3, subtraction. We will be borrowing and subtracting across zeros. Please help students practice and memorize those basic addition and subtraction facts. It will be a vital part when we are learning multiplication next chapter.
In Social Studies, we are learning about longitude and latitude and labeling a world map with continents and oceans. There is a link on the Announcements pages with a fun song that will help students memorize where and what the oceans and continents are. There will be a test on this coming up soon.
In Reading, we are starting our new story, My Very Own Room. Our target skill we are focusing on is making and confirming predictions. Be sure to be reading the story at home at least two times out loud to someone at home before the story test. The vocabulary and story test will be given some time next week.
In Religion, we are starting chapter 4, the starting of the Church and the events of Pentecost. The chapter 4 test will be towards the end of next week. We will attend weekly mass on Wednesdays as usual.
Looking forward to another fabulous week in Third Grade!
