Happy Monday and Brand New Week! We have a busy December upon us with many Christmas and Holiday Adventures to go on! There is lots of learning to be done in the next couple of weeks!
Super Student: Joey!
Positive Word: Joyful
Fact of the Week: A group of Frogs is called an Army! (Thanks Gavin!)
In Math, we are finishing up multiplication and moving into Division! The students should be continuing to work on their facts. The students should be working on 0-4 facts now. There will be a timing coming up in the next week or so. We are hopefully going to be able to finish most of the division chapter, if not all of it before Christmas break. The test will not be until after we get back from break.
In Social Studies, we are finishing up chapter 3. The students will complete an in-class assignment of a comprehensive review of chapter 3. This will be taken for points but will only be completed in class. Our next chapter we will be moving into is chapter 6, Our Country's History. We are going to mainly be focusing on the Native Americans and how they lived and started life here. There are many projects planned and additional resources, other than just the book, that will be incorporated into this chapter.
In Religion, we are finishing our discussion of the Liturgical calendar. We have discussed the calendar, Ordinary Time, and Advent. We will be discussing Christmas the week before break. The next testing chapter will be on chapter 8, the Marks of the Church.
In Reading we are finishing Home Grown Butterflies with our vocabulary quiz on Wednesday and story test on Friday. Our next story is back about the Old West, Go West! This is a historical fiction story that has many accurate details and facts about this era. We have a fun project to go along with this story.
Any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.
Looking forward to an excellent week here in Third Grade!
All the best,
Ms. Taff
