Happy First Day of Spring! We have many things to look forward to in the next coming weeks. Our Fun Run will be on Wednesday from 12:15-1:15 pm in the gymnasium. The students may wear their gym uniforms and/or Fun Run t-shirts if they ordered them.
Super Student: Lily!
Fact of the Week: The largest working yo-yo, was more than 10 feet tall, and wighed almost 900 pounds- almost as much as polar bear!
Positive Word: unbeatable!
In Social Studies, we have finished our QR code research on famous women from around the world. The students will present in class their biographies. We will then move back into our book of studying the Native Americans and the early settlers of America.
In Religion, we are taking our last chapter test before spring break on vocations and the different callings each of us have. The students will then be studying about Holy Week and Easter. We have Stations of the Cross for the last time this Friday. Operation Rice Bowl collections will be next week if the student participated.
In Math, we have started Chapter 14, Geometry. The students will be classifying shapes by their attributes. Our new favorite game is Geometry Simon Says! The students will then be measuring the lengths of triangles and quadrilaterals. There is lots of vocabulary throughout this chapter. The students will need to review this vocabulary daily.
In Reading, we are starting our new story entitled, "What do Illustrators Do?" The vocabulary quiz for this story will be on Monday on the following words; illustrate, instance, sketches, style, suggestions, and textures. The skill for this story is sequence of events using time order words. The story test will be on Wednesday of next week before Spring break.
Looking forward to a FABULOUS week in Third Grade!
